Life in the hands of an unseen God

Life comes, life goes, life continues.

Sometimes we get so caught up by life itself, we tend to forget about these three important things. Life comes, life goes, life continues.

In the past 9 months of not posting any blogs there have been several huge events take place in our lives. All of which brings me to this statement, the reminder that life is SO fragile and SO important.

In September we celebrated my dad (Marco A. Fuentes') last birthday on earth with tons of family, man what a great birthday it was, he was so blessed to have his family gathered in his home for such a birthday. we also celebrated my father in laws birthday, my husbands birthday.

In October we had quite a roller coaster month filled with ups and downs. My family and I had joined my mom and dad to a healing conference by Billy Burke and in hopes that God would do miracles in our lives, needless to say we were in need of some huge miracles, miracles no "man"could perform! it had to be supernatural, it had to be us trusting in God. We were ready, prepared, and willing to do whatever God wanted just to see Him work in our family. On that weekend Phil had received full healing from his knee (some of you will know this) but this was HUGE! Phil had never received physical healing before and that was in fact the only thing he was missing from God after having knee pain for years. We also were extremely happy to hear that my father was also healed from cancer, on that day specifically my dad told us that he had a vision of himself on an operating table and God operating on his body- he was on the ground for a long time (we knew God was doing something) in that week he went to the doctor to confirm this healing, with a doctor skeptical and hesitant who at first insisted that this was not going to happen, my dad was determined he would not go another week without being examined. When they examined him, what a shock for everyone! His cancer had reduced so much that it had even left the lymph nodes which was huge since the doctor said that if the cancer ever reached the lymph nodes we would know it was severe. Not to mention God had done a huge miracle in our entire family and circle of friends! my father had a huge awakening that it was time for him to mend his relationships with those he had quarrels with and also to unite our family as one, again to our surprise this was happening all so quickly and awesome! my father had mended relationships with people he had not spoken to in years!! and our family had a time of huge repentance, restoration and unity! Life Continues.

Although we were on a miracle high, we were greatly tested. In that same month my father had a time of reflection and at points battled with the option of continuing his chemo sessions or stopping altogether. He consulted everyone he felt had wisdom and those who he really cared about. Some believed that he needed to stop because if God did a healing why would he need chemo? others believed in continuing, because even if God had healed him what would be the harm in believing God would take the rest away through chemo? and others didn't know what to believe but regardless would support whatever he decided. He missed 2 sessions in total and went back. It wasn't until the end of October when he resumed his chemo sessions that he began to feel worst and was then admitted to the hospital. That week was the hardest week of my life! my husband was gone to Yellowknife for work, my in laws were gone on vacation, my other in laws were gone for missionary work, one of my brothers was preparing to go on vacation and in this time. I was in anguish, desperation and yet still holding on to the little faith I had. While in the hospital they took tons of fluid out of my dad's lungs and had him rested, things quickly progressed and before you know it was November, we were told he was not going to leave the hospital till he got better, and later we got news he wasn't going to get better and it would be his last week. my mother and I never left his side for the next 3 days, we then got news that it would only be about two days that he would survive. I will never forget those days, they were probably the most memorable days I've had to spend time with my dad, I remember when he would say "sweetie can you read to me?"and I would read books about healing and peace, we would put on soothing music and we would pray and join in prayer with his room mate, sometimes we wouldn't even talk but he would look at me and just smile while holding hands and just enjoy the stillness. In that short time we lost my father, but heaven gained a great man, husband, father, preacher, friend, brother, uncle grandfather, worker. hardest month of the year; Life Goes.

What more to say other than that December and January was the hardest holidays we've ever had to go through. There was a lot of questioning God about life itself! we were however still thankful that my father passed away without cancer, although it was pneumonia and that we had no doubt he entered into the pearly gates of heavens; Little did we know that God was busy at work without our knowledge. Until January 1st, feeling a little nauseous and weird I thought it might be a good idea to check if i'm alright physically, took a pregnancy test and saw a positive! and having battling just lost someone so dear to my heart, almost getting into an accident that would take away my life, I was reminded that Life still comes & continues.

so we come to today! some days we battle with the loss, some days we celebrate the coming of a new life and some days we just try to take it day by day. If you get anything today please get this, our life is not in our hands (if you didn't realize by now) there is no way that we could have controlled my dad living longer, getting healed sooner, having a baby sooner so that she could see her grandfather. Although we as humans are so eager to have things the way we want them, God knows better. Our lives are in the hands of an unseen God. what makes life so fragile and so important is that we seriously need to trust in GOD, and that even requires faith. You may be reading this and thinking, "but so many bad things have happened in my life already, why would I need to trust in a God who allowed this?" my only answer is this... If he already knows whats going to happen 5 minutes from now, tomorrow, a month from now, a year from now, 10 years from now, why would you NOT trust in God anyway? He knows how much you can handle, he knows what you will go through and he knows how this will affect you. In this year already I have decided to walk my life day by day trusting in God and being thankful. Since I have no control, I might as well be happy by the blessings in my life and be trusting that the hard things in my life God already has in control. I want to live my life as it comes with faith, as it goes knowing that I trusted in God and as it continues being faithful in obedience.

done.....

Let God do the Work!

In all the blog postings that have been on our blog there is one thing that we have forgotten to mention about dreams, goals, and God's plan. We have mentioned that it takes waiting, it takes patience. But we have forgotten to mention the one most important component to all of it! It is trusting in God. See we can wait and be patient all we want but if we don't trust in God that we take things into our own hands, in the past years my husband and I have done that. We prayed and prayed and we read the bible seeking after Gods clear voice and direction and to some extent we trusted in God, however because we did not totally trust Him we tried to manipulate where God was going to take us and when; obviously after doing that twice it flopped and to this day we feel like God did that to 1. protect us but 2. to teach us to trust Him more. It is the hardest part about seeking after Gods plan (in my personal opinion)

So how do you get to that point where you fully hand it over to Him?
1.FAITH - You see trusting is a hard action to do anyway, especially when it was broken before by someone else, but trusting in an unseen God? that can be quite the challenge! But we believe in this unique and grand God because of our faith in Him and that helps us to trust Him a lot more!
2.STEP BACK- when we decide not to try to control our own lives, we STEP BACK, and let God do the work, he literally does start doing the work!

In this past two months we have really seen God starting to prepare the soil for us to do what we are called to do! and we haven't done a thing except Trust, Watch and Learn! its incredible how God opens up doors before you and starts doing things without US trying to intervene! But doesn't that make sense anyway? we make things too complicated for God to do things His perfect way. That is really the secret! God can do things we never imagined, can pull strings we could have never reached, because ...HE IS GOD! and He is GOOD! and He is FAITHFUL! don't forget that when you get frustrated that you are not where you thought you would be, or when you think that your not really in the direction that you were suppose to be.

Remember your dreams and visions were placed for a reason, and although we may want to be there and get there NOW, God has his own agenda set and ready for you, let Him guide you and show you instead.

Be Blessed!

Doors

Have you ever had decisions to make? -Silly question right? Well when I ask this I don’t mean pizza or Chinese tonight, Coke or Pepsi? The miniscule little decisions that in an instant we can answer. When I ask have you ever had decisions to make?, I mean the decisions that grab and tug your heart so hard it almost makes you dizzy not knowing what to decide on.

Most of the time we can say well “I just have no clue what God wants me to do!” and there we are waiting for his “audible” voice or a “special” sign and we wait, wait, and wait for Gods answer and then ignore that there was even a decision to be made until it comes up again. But let’s expand our knowledge a bit. I am a strong believer that God opens many doors for us to sometimes just choose. When we are aligned with God’s word and we are obedient to WHATEVER He has for us then I believe strongly that He gives us that freedom of deciding because either way we will always be in the path that He arranged for us. You see, so many times when someone is not following Gods will and is not being obedient to Gods direction we can quickly say “well she/he is getting out of Gods will” I strongly believe that we cannot “get out” of God’s will. Now hold your horses, don’t get too riled up! I stay on my stance because nothing comes by surprise to God, so someone necessarily not doing what God wants them to do at that moment doesn’t mean that they “got out” of God’s will, it just means they are going take longer getting there.

This is all to say that Phil and I are in HUGE need of your prayers, once again God has opened MANY opportunities and we need his direction in the matter. We have asked God to help us decide by April 1st, yes, this is kind of short notice, but it has been in the process of prayer since early January.

We thank you all so much for your love and support. Please go ahead and like our facebook page we will be doing a lot more updates there -> on your facebook search bar type Phil & Patty ->click like.

Focus February

What a great month into this new year! I think in the month of January, God really started to unsettle our hearts about life and being complacent; As a individual and as a couple, our calling is not to stay stagnate and unfruitful! so we just felt that there was a real turning in our hearts that God is ready to open up a lot of doors for growth in our lives.

So coming into the month of February, we are putting our FOCUS on Gods will. We need a lot of direction and guidance about some opportunities that have appeared into our lives and we want to follow the will of God no matter what. Sometimes, when all the doors are closed and all you want to do is follow God's will you can become overwhelmed with not having an answer, and when those times come the wisest thing to do is to put a focus on God. One cherished friend of ours once said "when God says no, you know it! it is loud and clear that it is a N-O. But when God says yes sometimes it takes a huge leap of faith to know that it really is a Y-E-S." and in this time of focus you need faith! a word that evidently has been important in the month of January! so its all puzzling together its now just a time of waiting for a proper confirmation.

We need your help!

the most important need for this month:

PRAY! we need you to be our backup support by coming alongside with us and praying! that God will make clear of what it is suppose to do! Most importantly, that he would shut doors that need to be shut immediately and open doors and give us faith to go through them!

In this month of Focus, Faith and Waiting we will be praying and fasting once a week for God to give us clarity

there will be more details to come when we know God wants us to do!

New Years Resolution & Distractions

How many times do we look at January 1st and try to make a list compiled of resolutions of things we need to fix or better about ourselves and our life?

and how many times do we realize that we just write the list but fail to actually complete it. cause it seems to far out of reach?

I believe that there is one resolution should be the most important resolution.
not too difficult and not too easy that it can just happen...

New Year's Resolution #1

DO NOT give up on your dreams!

Phil & I have this huge dream of being part of something big and new. something foreign and something revolutionary for the church.

The dream we have takes alot of money, alot of support, and alot of time and effort. Honestly, it feels like it will take years for it to happen; and it just may take years to happen. But we are not giving up. Constantly, we remind ourselves of "the dream" and "the goal" Sometimes it seems a little overwhelming, but I look back and remind myself that I never came up with this dream on my own, God is the one who placed that dream and if he is the one who planted that dream in my heart, He will be the one to see it through.

The problem is that usually when we make up our resolutions, we get too caught up on the distractions

Distraction#1
There is just no enough time

Distraction#2
I just don't know if I can do it

Distraction#3
It just wont ever happen, so why try?

So my number one resolution is to never give up, even when it seems impossible, or even when I am so tired of it not happening. Most importantly to not focus on the distractions.

and life is good.

when you pause and look at your life you realize how much God has blessed you with…
whats to complain about? we have a roof over our heads, food on our plates, clothes on our bodies, and friends & family who support us. Provision is a BLESSING something we should be grateful for.

Dreams and Dreamers

Phil and I,

we knew that we were really meant to be together because our dreams were to the T the same! and we both felt like it was God who had woven our dreams together.
In the past 8 months its been such a trial time with everything that happened, with all the trials we have had to face, with all OUR plans changed we find that our dream is the one thing we still need to protect and go after. Be ready for something to change Canada!

I want to give an encouragement to those who have dreams...dream big....just because it may seem to huge to ever accomplish it does not mean that you can't reach them! The thing about dreams is that you have to be totally and completely dependent on God. His timing, His way. Why would you have it any other way? because if He is God, HE WILL MAKE IT PERFECT.
Don't be discouraged just because your dream does not happen instantly! Don't give up on the things God has placed in your heart, those things are the most important things that should push us to move forward and thrive to see what God has in store.

I realized that the one thing I love doing and seeing is helping people get their dreams accomplished. Because I know there is just such a peace when you have accomplished something God has asked of you, something that is birthed in your heart.

Go after your Dreams and do not let anything tear them down.

Shhh.. it's Phil

Hey... This is the Husband reporting in for a quick blog...

You know those people that think they are so intelligent and they flaunt it all over. They think they can out wit you, but their mouth is quicker than their mind? Too many people forget that people skills is in the dealing with people, not making them look less smart. When an individual like that comes around I tend not to say much because I don't want to make them feel stupid... opps... I mean I employ my people skills... relating to them and talking at an understandable level of speech. Please, whoever you are that thinks you are God's gift to modern humanity... chill out!

God Reads My Blog

so I suggest that you read my previous blog, because there I am writing away thinking "God I really need you to come through, I'm being patient but...seriously I need you to come through" and BAM! God reads my Blog and provides me with an interview then literally 5 minutes later I got a Job!...Hello? Is that not amazing?! come on now!! my God totally knows what I need and here is the best part it is not any job....it is a job in which I need experience in..COFFEE!!! for those of you who actually know me, and know what I want to do for Jesus, you actually know why I am stoked about this!! needless to say, my husband and I are doing a party dance...cause now things are rolling..on a slight pause but rolling slowly I had to share...cause honestly..that is not my doing IT IS ALL JESUS! Jesus knows..seriously.

PA

Pause

Well hello there Blog,
how are you doing? abandoned? I know. Well Phil and I are doing great...my sweet husband works a ton and me...looking for jobs and school a ton. so really? Life right now is on a Pause, to be truthful while it is a pause I'm realizing that once again (except this time as a married couple) we are learning how to wait... and oh the joy of waiting...NOT! sometimes its really hard..and that is the reality but all I know is that when we wait patiently and just enjoy where God is taking us now He will reward us in the end. so for now all I know is that God is about to reward us in some big way, he is about to teach us something huge and The Alexandre's are saying "bring it on" ....
simple. yet satisfying...

Every Season. Change.

This video is a representation of my life...the song is written & sung by Nicole Nordeman called every season.

its been a hard and joyful year for me and I feel like
God is truly recreating me in these different seasons of life.
There was dead seasons just like winter
where I felt alone, but I found God in those alone times.
There was alive seasons just like summer
feeling the joy of friends and family and God helping me
and just like fall I felt like God was just preparing me to change...
and just like spring all things are new. and I know in my heart daily I am being restored ...
Many of you know that I have been in a new journey,
just recently got married, had a set job that ended up not working out due to government and now in a whole new plan that I know God will bless...and then I still have school...
and just to let everyone know
I'm focused.
I have a goal and I will reach it.
and just as God is changing me, recreating me, restoring me...I found myself growing in His love and His strength.
be assured that this girl is NOT giving up...I am NOT a quitter...and that which God has created me to do I will do! if that means finish school..I will! if that means planting a church I will!...if that means making more songs to praise the Lord...I will! just wait...out of this individual will arise Gods call. out of this couple...we will serve the Lord...

Updates...

Okay so alot has happened in the past weeks...
Phil finally crossed the border and got all our stuff including our precious dog Edmund Bishop Long (Eddie) and he had no trouble really...
But besides that, its just been school work and celebrating birthdays, and cooking and cleaning up.
In two days it will be one more birthday to celebrate, PHIL!!!!...woohoo!...
and well...in the past few weeks upcoming to this one,
I have seen that God has truly blessed us and is continuing to do so.
I also have seen that in the months that have passed us by so many curb balls have come our way, so many things that could have taken our joy away and yet we haven't (Praise God) but mainly we have still had our joy...and I can honestly say that is for two reasons 1. because God is faithful, and when you come to that realization you trust that you know He'll pull through NO MATTER WHAT 2. There is Love and Support in the air. okay laugh if you want I know that sounds kind of cheesy, but seriously. Phil and I are so in love with each other that all these curb balls can hit us and it wont effect our love for each other or our strength to try something else....and then we have friends and families like you who are praying for us, helping us and supporting us with whatever we choose to do. So with that being said.

When curb balls come your way. Trust and Know that God is going to pull through.
He is way too faithful to leave you hanging.Seriously.

Peace,
The woman-Alexandre

Wife.

Well,
This week my word was Domestic. I have really noticed that I'm getting into the hang of being a "domestic wife" I saw the definition : "devoted to home life or household affairs" dictionary.com and I loved it! I was like yes, I am devoted to my home and my household affairs! and I know people are probably thinking ....well your a newlywed but 10 years from now your going to be so tired of doing laundry, cleaning and cooking...well I hope not, because when I look at that definition- I want to be that wife that is devoted to her home.

Proverbs 31:27 27 She watches over the affairs of her household
and does not eat the bread of idleness."
Domestic I want to be. Domestic I am.

ugh....

well for our friends and family out there...if your wondering about what my fb status is all about.....phil and I went to the border and Phil was denied entry into the United States...needless to say we are now praying for Plan B and C and maybe even D....we need your prayers greatly. This is totally hard..it has really been a hard learning process but when you are in the Will of God and you know that God has your back you know that everything will somehow work out according to His will...and I know for a fact that God has some huge plans....! this all to be honest though stinks...phil and I are mixed emotions....

Its real.

just a random thought first (food for the soul)
one of the greatest battles of all christians and even those who arent is TRUSTing God. and even when we say we do...it is never enough. Let me tell you why. Because God is always looking for ways to have you trust him more!.... and the more that you can trust him the more he can bless you and entrust you with it. so what makes it so hard for us to trust Him? the fact that its mysterious, the fact that it may not go the way WE want to, the fact that we are not in control. And to be truthful i can sit here writing on my dell laptop and say Yes I do trust God and the moment I say it I feel in my heart that there is still more I could trust Him with but I don't yet......Thats why I love God because this relationship could never get boring.

okay so anyway
....packing what a pain and what a joy...while my husband and my dad fix my very old but still chugging along car I am packing my very girlie room...realizing I am leaving my childhood behind....not the memories but the stuff...all the teddies all the memorabilia its so weird to me. I feel so Grown up!....hah....maybe cause I am....weird!

Phil's first post!!!! Here we GOOOOOOO!

Well Patty is no longer a Ms., but has graduated into the Mrs. category... and better yet, she's MY Mrs!

God has definitely pulled through with everything. I give thanks to Him because of all the generous people in our lives ya know? We've been blessed with so much, not necessarily money or materialistic things, but love, peace, and family/friends. We have such great friends and I am so thankful for them all. It really is a bitter sweet time in my life though. Only recently I've gotten closer and began to really want a relationship with my cousins, and I'm leaving. It's a little unfair, but I hope they understand that if I stayed, they'd be in my favorite 5 (cell phone commercial).

Well, in the next two weeks we will be packing up all our belongings. It's kind of weird actually... taking all your possessions like all the elementary paintings, teddy bears, piano recital rewards, a small mountain of model cars, and of course my shelves of soccer trophies... Everything. But it's okay. The more I think about things, the more grateful I am. I get to start a life of my own... well, our own... with all the stuff I had. It's like starting from scratch... but not really. An adventure for sure!

I don't know what else to say. Patty told me to give this a shot so I did. Oh... well, since the last morning of the honeymoon, my stomach has been rotten! I haven't been able to really keep things down too well... well, maybe down is the wrong word... more like IN... ha ha ah... if you get my drift. I began writing this on the couch, and am finishing on the John (gross? whatever... you facebook addicts do it... I know it!) because I'm in a bunch of pain. Not enough to go to the hospital, but enough to be really irritating.

To finish, the next couple weeks are going to be hectic and I'm trying to keep my head on straight, but you know what... If God is in control, all I have to do is my part, let Him do His, and everything will work out. Like Jesus said (in the PLT [Phil's Literal Translation]), "Don't freak out about tomorrow because tomorrows messed up too... focus on today and God'll get you through!" Matthew 6:34... ish... ha ha ha...

God's great, Friends are good, and life is going.

Peace,

Phil Alexandre

So.....

God. God is a God of pure-geniune faithfulness.
This past two months already have been absolutely insane.
from stressing out and almost even doubting if God will come through for a job for both Phil and I to seeing Gods hand on our lives.
The constant battle was trying to know what God wanted....isn't that always our constant battle? I mean I constantly hear people saying "I don't know what God wants me to do yet" or... "just waiting for Gods Will" well...thats great but what happens when you are filled with options...then you hear "I don't know which one God is leading me to" ...."I don't know the right path" ...well...I personally think that sometimes God gives us choices...none are necessarily right or wrong because whichever one you chose you still will be "in the will of God"...I mean he planned out your days long time ago..He knows in the end what your going to do or choose right?...nothing is a surprise to Him. anyway-to go on Phil & I have had quite a number of opportunities of which some were quickly closed because they just weren't right and some well....some were there just wasn't right. *laughs*
in the month of June we both were on the crunch lines...okay God give us a job....come on....you said you would pull through.....and well badda bing bada boom....not until three weeks ago did we finally hear something! and hopefully it is what God wants.....and well...no matter where you are whether Gods Will or not God always wants to teach us something and I'm ready to both learn and grow....so now all thats left is...well stress & excitement and all for the wedding!!!... Phil and I both got hugely sick in the past week but praise the Lord we're getting better! anywho thats my rant on our lives for now.....see ya! update you soon

-for this post.
Patty!
